Question 1

How are charities verified?

Accepted Answer

We check every charity against its official register before it goes live, which is the ACNC for Australian charities. Charities also complete our onboarding and connect their payment account, and we keep monitoring every listed charity. Australian charities can join today. Other countries are coming soon.

Question 2

How do charities receive donations?

Accepted Answer

Donations are processed through a secure payment gateway. For gifts to a listed charity, Hiba Gifts processes the payment and it settles to that charity's own connected payment account. Every donation, including a cause gift, settles to the receiving charity's own connected payment account; Hiba Gifts does not hold donations for later allocation. Standard processing fees apply, and Hiba Gifts does not take a platform cut.

Question 3

Can my organisation join Hiba Gifts?

Accepted Answer

Yes! If you represent a registered charity, click "For Charities" in the navigation to learn more and apply. You'll need to verify your organisation and connect a payment account to receive donations.

Question 4

How long does charity verification take?

Accepted Answer

We review every charity by hand once all required documentation is submitted, so timing depends on how complete your paperwork is. We'll notify you via email once your account is approved.

Question 5

What does it cost my charity to use Hiba Gifts?

Accepted Answer

No setup fee, no monthly charge, and no minimum donation volume. The only deduction is the standard payment processing fee, which is taken from each donation before it reaches you.

Question 6

Can we embed a donation form on our own website?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every verified charity gets an embeddable donation widget you can paste into your own site with a single snippet. Donors stay on your domain while checkout runs in a secure iframe.

Question 7

Can we start the application before creating an account?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The application form is public, saves a draft automatically as you go, and only asks you to sign in at the very end when you're ready to submit.

Question 8

Do we still need to upload documents if we're already registered with the ACNC or a similar body?

Accepted Answer

If your charity is on the ACNC register, we check the register automatically and the document upload becomes optional rather than required. Australian charities can join today. Other countries are coming soon.
