Question 1

How do I make a donation?

Accepted Answer

Browse charity gifts on the Explore page, choose a cause that fits the person you're giving to, set an amount, personalise the card, and complete checkout. Every gift on Hiba Gifts is currently a one-off donation.

Question 2

Are my donations tax-deductible?

Accepted Answer

Hiba Gifts does not issue tax receipts and does not advise on tax. We email you a confirmation receipt for your records after every successful donation, but it is a payment receipt rather than a tax receipt. If you need one for tax purposes, contact the charity directly.

Question 3

What payment methods do you accept?

Accepted Answer

We accept Apple Pay, Google Pay, Link (one-tap checkout), and all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) through our secure payment gateway. All transactions are encrypted.

Question 4

Who pays the processing fees?

Accepted Answer

Hiba Gifts charges a 0% platform fee, so the only cost taken from a gift is the standard payment processing fee charged by the payment gateway. It is deducted from the donation before it reaches the charity. You can add an optional tip at checkout to support the platform, but it is never required.

Question 5

How much of my donation goes to the charity?

Accepted Answer

Hiba Gifts does not charge a platform fee, so the only deduction is the standard payment processing fee (around 1.65% + a small fixed amount in your local currency). That fee is deducted from the donation before it reaches the charity. You can also leave an optional tip to support the platform.

Question 6

Can I donate anonymously?

Accepted Answer

The recipient will see your name on the gift card unless you choose to customise the "From" name. By default, the donation amount is hidden from the recipient, but you can choose to show it during checkout.

Question 7

Is there a minimum or maximum amount I can give?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Each gift is between $1 and $10,000 in your local currency. If you want to give more, you can send multiple gifts, or contact us to arrange a larger contribution.

Question 8

Which countries and currencies do you support?

Accepted Answer

You can see prices in your own currency, and you pay in the charity's currency. Checkout availability depends on the charity, payment route and the laws that apply to your donation. Gift delivery is fully digital, so you can send to someone in a different country to yourself. Australian charities can join today. Other countries are coming soon.

Question 9

What if the charity I want to support is not listed?

Accepted Answer

Get in touch through our contact page and let us know which charity you'd like to see. We can invite them to apply. Every charity on Hiba Gifts is verified before it goes live, so listings grow as more organisations complete onboarding.

Question 10

I donated as a guest, will it appear if I sign up later?

Accepted Answer

Yes. When you create an account using the same email address you used at checkout, your past guest donations are automatically linked to your new account. You'll see them in your donor dashboard alongside anything you donate after signing up.
